Genealogist

My genealogical research began in 2019, when I decided to trace my family’s origins in Montella. That first experience led me to the archives and helped me discover just how much of a story can be hidden behind a name, a date, or a document. Today, I conduct genealogical research and archival investigations, with a particular focus on Montella and the Irpinia region, extending my work to the provinces of Avellino, Benevento, and Salerno. My work combines documentary research, source verification, and attention to historical context, because the goal is not merely to build a family tree, but to reconstruct the people, families, and events that are part of it.

Training

The practice of genealogical research is complemented by specialized training in genealogy, research methods, and the evaluation of sources.

Professional Genealogist Course — Elevify, January 2026

A 16-hour distance learning professional training course, divided into 7 modules, focused on genealogical research techniques, the study of surnames and name changes, and the use of autosomal DNA evidence to verify genealogical hypotheses.

Genealogy: Researching Your Family Tree — University of Strathclyde (FutureLearn), February 2026

Certificate of completion for a 6-week course (4 hours per week) focused on the application of the Genealogical Proof Standard, lateral research techniques (FAN/clusters), the evaluation of primary and secondary sources, and the use of DNA testing in genealogical research.
